<p>At the <a href="https://forum-rathenau.de/c4/" target="_blank" style="color:#e5e7eb;">CarbonCycleCultureClub</a> (C4), Forum Rathenau&#39;s discussion and thinking format, there will be a very special encounter between science and art as part of the last MELT Festival on Thursday, July 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Zschornewitz power plant.<br />
The topic &quot;Blue Carbon: Achieving climate targets with natural CO2 storage?&quot; will focus on natural climate protection solutions. What significance do blue carbon ecosystems have for climate protection?</p>

<p>The discussion will be broadcast live on <a href="https://www.youtube.com/user/OfficialMeltFestival" target="_blank" style="color:#e5e7eb;">MELT Festival YouTube channel</a> and also streamed in Fairopolis.</p>

<p><strong>Jayda G</strong> made her breakthrough in 2017 when a video of her DJ set in Amsterdam went viral. Her energetic dance moves on the turntables quickly made the Canadian DJ and music producer famous. But there is more to her music than this upbeat mix of soul, disco and house: as an environmental toxicologist, she weaves in sounds from nature, such as the songs of killer whales, to stimulate conversations about a topic that is close to her heart: Nature conservation. As a filmmaker, she made the documentary &quot;Blue Carbon&quot;.</p>

<p><strong>Antje Boetius</strong> researches the consequences of climate change on the oceans and polar regions. As a deep-sea researcher, she discovers unknown habitats in the deep sea. The aim of her research is to analyze the role of microbial biodiversity in the sea. Antje Boetius is an expert on science and culture in the Anthropocene and works with artists, writers and journalists on questions of social transformation and its traces in art and culture.</p>

<p>The hybrid event will be moderated by <strong>Claudia Reiser</strong>, mdr aktuell, Fokus Klimawandel.</p>

<p>Aroma Pitch, a Berlin-based electronic music trio, blends classical drumming and jazz piano influences into their sophisticated rhythms and multi-layered chords. <p>Nick Le&oacute;n&rsquo;s dystopian club music samples the sounds of Florida&rsquo;s diverse ecosystem, but his style has varied fearlessly along the way.
