Melt! cinema at Intro Kneipe
Intro celebrates its 20th anniversary – and a premiere. For the first time at Melt!, Intro Kneipe will open its doors to the public – that’s Intro Pub for all you English speaking festival folks. So if you need to take a break from all the action on the various stages, join us here. At Intro Kneipe, musicians will talk about their backstage experiences at summer festivals, authors will present their works, non-fiction as well as fiction, and you will also get the chance to see a fantastic selection of film.
The first screening on Friday night will be the 30-minute film accompanying the legendary Beastie Boys clip “Fight For Your Right”. Afterwards, we have a generation-spanning Hamburg double feature scheduled with documentaries about Die Sterne and 1000 Robota.
All of you, who rather preferred spending Friday night in front of the stages, we, once more, screen the half-hour Beastie Boys clip on Saturday after numerous interviews and book readings. In accordance to the current Intro feature, the following documentary, “Upside Down”, deals with the leading Britpop label Creation Records history, which was successfully screened at the first German edition of the music film festival “In-Edit”. A breathtaking mockumentary, which may or may not use the methods of a proper documentary, “I’m Still Here” shows you Hollywood star Joaquin Phoenix in a very different light.
