Our lovely festival is back! We still have to make it through the cold winter, and the last festival season is closer than the next, but we’re all already geared up at Melt! HQ to organise the 2016 festival shenanigans, which will take place from July 15–17 in the much missed City of Iron.

Before we go into details about our line-up and our 2016 stage setup (prepare yourself for some big surprises!), we’ll start our early bird ticket sale which includes a free ticket to our pre-party on Thursday, July 14. As of today, our 5 Friends Ticket is also available. With one click, you can purchase five tickets for you and your and get the fifth for free. As in 2015, tickets will be personalised. To activate your tickets, you can go to login.meltfestival.de.

Detailed info on travel arrangements, accommodation, our MiXery Melt! Train, bus shuttles and more will be posted as we get closer to the festival.

Tickets are available via www.meltfestival.de/#tickets.

In January, the Festival Awards Europe will, once again, be held as part of the Eurosonic Noorderslag. Festival 2015 has been nominated for an award in the categorie “Best Medium-Sized Festival” again this year.

You can win tickets to every winning festival of each cateogry. By the way, Kylie Minogue and Alt-J are nominated as “Headliner of the Year”, Ibeyi and Years & Years in the category “Best Newcomer”.
We count on your support. Thanks a bunch!

It’s been two weeks already? Two weeks since we danced under the disco balls of Ferropolis and made Melt! 2015 one of the most magical events of the year? Indeed, all disco balls have been stored away, and like the crane giants, are waiting patiently until our return next year. With our aftermovie, we want to take a last look back at Melt! Festival’s glitz and glamour.

After our feedback round at our open stage with Melt! booker Stefan Lehmkuhl, we want to know about your ultimate 2015 highlights and what you wish for our next edition from 15 to 17 July 2016.

Visit our Facebook page, leave a comment with your five 2015 highlights and your must-sees for 2016. Among all comments, we give away 3×2 tickets to Melt! 2016. Good luck! We’re looking forward to your comments.

What an incredible weekend! More than ever, Melt! Festival 2015 lived up to its reputation of breaking with expecations and uniting a line-up in Ferropolis that defies genre and country borders. Half of you travelled to Ferropolis from abroad to celebrate the 3-day event’s equally international line-up.
With Kylie Minogue, one true pop icon conquered the main stage at this year’s Melt! Festival. You welcomed the Australian singer with frenetic »Kylie« chants who in return enthralled us all with her classics and a special rendition of the German song »99 Luftballons«. With Italo Disco mastermind, Giorgio Moroder, techno legend Sven Väth, showgaze heroes Ride and hit machine Trevor Horn, true music legends took the stages in the City of Iron.
Top-class acts like Alt-J, London Grammar, Flume, Jamie xx, Jon Hopkins, Bonobo and Django Django also lured the crowds to the stages in Ferropolis. The German-speaking indie and rock part was well covered with bands such as Element of Crime, Tocotronic, Bilderbuch, AnnenMayKantereit and Wanda.
In our new Open Stage Area at Camping North, every festival-goer could show their talents on stage for the first time, alongside a performance by Erlend Øye, a book reading with Jan Müller and Martin Hossbach as well as yoga for breakfast. The Playground at the festival site also kept the crowd on their toes with the Sneaker Freaker Block Party, the Einraumdisco and more taking over the area around the sandbox.
At our final feedback round on our Open Stage, you had the chance to talk to our Head of Booking, Stefan Lehmkuhl, about your festival exprience. The successfully introduced cashless payment system was also amongst the topics discussed. In 2016, Lehmkuhl announced, the programme will, once again, be full of surprises with directional changes happening next year.
Melt! Festival wants to thank the entire Melt! crowd for the incredible support this year. We can’t wait to see you all again for our next edition from 15 – 17 July 2016.

Until then, enjoy our photo galleries on our website and take a look back at a selection of main stage performances recorded by the good people of Arte Concert. More video footage of 2015 will follow very soon!
See you next year!
Your Melt! team

With 120+ acts and DJs, Melt! 2015 gathers a whole lotta talent for sure. What about you and the other 19.999 free festival spirits, though?
The open stage at our campsite will change that and lay the focus on you. Come over and show us your talents. If you want to enter the stage with your band mates, that’s great! You’re an excellent pianist? Come on over and show us what you’ve got. You can juggle, songwrite or you’re a poetry slammer and yoga pro? It doesn’t matter how breathtaking or bonkers your talent is, we want to see you on stage.
In addition, we have some pre-scheduled highlights sharing the stage with you: Martin Hossbach and Jan Müller will reflect on two decades of Toctronic band history while reading from «Die Toctronic Chroniken«, Rave Aerobics will turn the campsite into a raving sports arena, the Busker Diaries bring all of Berlin’s street music talents and The Great Joy Leslie will cater to you all you magic lovers out there.
From Friday to Sunday, our stage programme – which starts at 1pm and ends at 2am – will be presented by the wonderful Melissa Khalaj. You don’t need to register in advance. Just come over and ask your personal artist host. He will assign you your set time. We have an e-piano and a guitar amp waiting for you on location.

Let us introduce one of the bigger innovations this year: Melt! 2015 will be cashless only! Why, you ask? It’s more convenient, safer, faster and you can spend more time in front of the stages instead of waiting in line at the ATM machines. You’ll just swipe your wrist and the next beer or Handbrot will be yours. You can even top up your wristband at home, avoid going to one of our cashless points and start the festival weekend right away. In case the credit on your wristband is running low, our cashless points will be waiting for you nearby where you can top up your wristband chip anytime. What about your personal data? Don’t worry, all the data from your festival account stays with us! See below for further info.
To make your encounter with our cashless payment system a little easier, we’ll top up your wristband with € 10 bonus credit a few days after you activated your ticket – the week before the festival the latest.
But that’s not all. If you top up your wristband with € 50, you get a bonus of € 5. If you top up your wristband with € 100, you even get € 10 extra on top of your € 10 bonus!

Can you still pay cash on site?
Melt! 2015 is cashless only. This goes for our festival site as well as the campsite including our supermarket for instance.

Will you monitor and record consumer behaviour on location?
Any transaction you make – ropping up your wristband or purchasing food or drinks – will show up in your festival account. That means your not entirely anonymous. However, you don’t have to worry about your personal data. All data saved in your festival account will be kept under wraps. We neither create movement profiles of festivalgoers nor do we hand over or sell data to partners or sponsors. We protect all your data according to current data protection regulations.

In terms of ticket purchase, we’re doing something new this year: your personal festival account, which you can now activate with your ticket vialogin.meltfestival.de. Since ticket fraud and immensely expensive black market tickets were a major issue in past years, we decided to introduce festival accounts. So what does that mean for each and everyone of you: your festival account will be linked to your ticket which enables you to manage your purchased tickets as well as your festival wristband credit. In addition, forwarding your ticket to a third party is now easier and safer with your account. If you have been forwarded a ticket through our system, you can be sure you won’t run into trouble at our entrance.
How does it work? / Can I purchase more than one ticket? For my friends for instance?
Every Melt! ticket you purchase will show up in your festival account whether it is your very own ticket that you’re going to use or the tickets you purchased for your friends. With your account, you can safely decide who will receive the other tickets. You need help activating your tickets? For all the info you need, click here.
I haven’t received a confirmation e-mail. What can I do?
Go to login.meltfestival.de and click on »activate ticket«. Enter your ticket number and the e-mail address you used when purchasing your ticket. You will receive a new activation code.
How important is registering with an e-mail address?
Since people might register with the same name, identifying that you are actually you is important. We will do this via your e-mail address to be able to clearly identify you.
What do I do if I won’t be able to attend the festival, but the ticket is registered under my name only? Can I re-sell my ticket or give it to someone else?
You can forward tickets via your festival account. To sell your tickets, please go toTixForGigs. Simply log in to your account, click on »Tickets« in the menu bar to see all your purchased tickets which you can then re-sell.
Please note: if you give one of your tickets to someone else whose name isn’t printed on the ticket, said person won’t be able to enter the festival site. When forwarding or activating a ticket, it is important that every ticket holder’s name corresponds to the name on a valid ID which you bring to the festival.
How do I get hold of my festival wristband?
You’ll be able to exchange your ticket for a wristband at a wristband exchange booth on location. Your festival ticket allows you to enter the campsite as well as the festival site if the name on your ticket corresponds to the name on your ID card. Please, have a valid ID ready for check-in.
Third party tickets / black market tickets
We urge you not to purchase tickets via eBay or other ticket platforms since tickets are only valid if your name is printed on the ticket. This can only be the case if tickets were bought via our website (TixForGigs) or our official tickets shops which will be posted on our website shortly.
